BLUCONNECT / USER GUIDE
Using your devices
Last updated: 7 October 2026
Every device you add, whatever its brand, gets a device page with the same layout. This page shows you how to control devices, place them in rooms and keep your list tidy.
The device page
Tap a device card on the Home or Devices tab. At the top you'll find the device type, name, room, current state and power button. The Device controls section below changes with the device type: brightness and color for a light, temperature and mode for an air conditioner, position for blinds, lock/unlock for a lock, and so on.
- All features: every setting, status and command the manufacturer offers is listed here; nothing is hidden, including features without a dedicated control on the main panel.
- On TVs and remote devices, the Remote row opens a full-screen remote (keys, touchpad, numbers). Keys the device doesn't support aren't shown.
- For cameras, open the live view from the camera panel on the device page.
- The star at the top right adds the device to favorites; the pencil icon opens Device settings.
Favorites
Put the devices you use most in the Favorites section of the Home tab. Favorites are personal; other members of the home see their own.
- Press and hold a device card to add it to favorites; press and hold again to remove it.
- Or tap the star at the top right of the device page, or the Favorite switch under Device settings › APPEARANCE.
Rooms
Rooms are shared across your home: everyone you share the home with sees the rooms you create and where devices are. Guest members can't change rooms or device settings.
- In the Rooms section of the Home tab, tap Add room (or Account › Home settings › Add room).
- Type the Room name and pick one from ROOM TYPE.
- Use Add / move devices to bring devices into the room, then tap Save.
- To change the order, use the up/down arrows in the Account › Home settings › ROOMS list.
To edit or delete a room, tap it in Home settings; Delete room leaves its devices without a room. Devices without a room appear under "No room assigned" on the Devices tab.
Rename, change room, hide or remove
Tap the pencil icon at the top right of the device page to open Device settings. Confirm your changes with Save.
- NAME: give the device any name you like. Leave it blank to use the manufacturer's name.
- ROOM: choose the device's room or select No room.
- APPEARANCE › Hide device: the device disappears from the Home tab and lists. To bring it back, tap it under Account › Home settings › HIDDEN DEVICES.
- PAIRING › Remove device: shown for devices you paired directly with your phone (e.g. a TV) and removes the pairing; use Add device to add it again.
- A device that comes from a manufacturer account or a platform can't be removed on its own; hide it instead, or disconnect that account under Account › Linked accounts.
- SUPPORT › Report a problem lets you tell us about an issue with that device.
Connection paths and offline devices
The CONNECTION PATHS section on the device page shows how the device is reached: local paths are tagged "tried first", and cloud paths act as a backup. If one path doesn't respond, the command goes through the next. The same section shows the manufacturer, model and serial number.
- When a device can't be reached, its card shows Offline, the device page shows a "Device offline" notice and the controls are dimmed. Check that the device is on and connected.
- For a TV that's off, the page shows "TV is off"; the power button tries to wake it. If it doesn't turn on, enable switching on with Wi-Fi (Wake-on-LAN) in the TV's network settings.
- Pull down on the Home tab to refresh the state of all devices.
Program appliances
On the page of appliances that run programs, such as washing machines, dishwashers and ovens, the programs are listed in a grid. Running appliances appear in the Running now section of the Home tab with their time remaining.
- Tap a program on the device page.
- Adjust the Program options; they are sent to the device only when you start it.
- Tap the "Start …" button. If the app says remote start is off, first press the remote start button on the appliance.
- To stop a running program, use the stop button on the device page and confirm Stop program.
On the free plan, program tracking (time remaining, finish time, starting programs) works on 1 appliance; the others show "Program tracking is in Plus". Getting notified when a program finishes (Notify when finished) is a BluConnect Plus feature.
Robot vacuums
A robot vacuum's page shows the battery level and the Start cleaning, Pause, Stop, Dock and Locate buttons. On supported models you can clean a single room from the WHICH ROOM section and check parts such as brushes and filters in the MAINTENANCE section.
- Map: after the robot completes one full clean, your rooms appear on the map. Use Rooms to clean selected rooms, Zone to clean an area you draw with your finger, and Go to to send the robot to a spot.
- Restrict (no-go zones, no-mop zones, virtual walls), Edit (merge, split and rename rooms) and Drive manually are BluConnect Plus features.
- Schedules & history: add or delete the robot's own schedules and see its cleaning history. Schedules are saved to the robot, so they run even when your phone is off.
FAQ
I can't find a device setting on the main panel.
Tap the All features row at the bottom of the device page. Every setting, status and command the manufacturer offers is listed there.
How do I bring back a device I hid?
Open Account › Home settings, tap the device in the HIDDEN DEVICES section, turn off Hide device and tap Save.
There's no Remove device option in Device settings.
This option only appears for devices paired directly with your phone. Devices that come from a manufacturer account or a platform such as Apple Home, Google Home or Home Assistant belong to that connection: you can hide the device or remove the connection under Account › Linked accounts.
Does my family see the changes I make to rooms?
Yes. The home name, rooms, device rooms, names and hidden state are saved to your account and are the same for everyone you share the home with. Favorites, however, are personal.
