Control your air conditioner and old TV from your phone (infrared)

Anything with a remote can be smart. The infrared signal is sent from a Broadlink RM4 mini/pro or an Android phone with an IR blaster; the device shows up in BluConnect like any other and joins routines.

What you need

• Broadlink RM4 mini or RM4 pro (iPhone and Android, also away from home)
• or an Android phone with an IR blaster (Xiaomi, Redmi, POCO, some Huawei/Honor)
• iPhones have no IR blaster; use a Broadlink

How does it connect?

Add device → Infrared → device type and brand. A matching code set is picked from the library; if it is missing, teach the remote's buttons one by one.

What can you do?

• AC mode, temperature, fan
• TV power, volume, channels, input
• Routine that turns on the AC before you get home
