Control your Nuki smart lock from your phone, over your home network

Last updated: 7 October 2026

Your Nuki lock, in the same app as your lights and alarm. With a Nuki Bridge the lock is controlled over your home network, without the cloud; Wi-Fi locks without a bridge connect with a Nuki Web API key. If both paths exist, the lock shows up as one device and the local path is tried first.

Which devices?

  • Nuki Smart Lock (2.0, 3.0, 3.0 Pro, 4th gen, Ultra)
  • Nuki Opener (building intercom)
  • Nuki Bridge

How does it connect?

Add device → Nuki. Bridge: the bridge is found while your phone is on the same Wi-Fi, then you press the button on the bridge within 30 seconds (Bridge › HTTP API must be on in the Nuki app). Wi-Fi lock without a bridge: create an API key at web.nuki.io › API and choose "Nuki Web". No account password is asked.

What can you do?

  • Lock, unlock, unlatch, Lock 'n' Go
  • Door sensor: door open / closed
  • Battery level and low battery warning
  • Opener: open the door, Ring to Open, continuous mode
  • Routines such as "lock the door when I leave"

FAQ

Does it work without internet?
On the Nuki Bridge path, yes: while your phone is on the home network the lock is reached directly through the bridge. The Nuki Web path needs internet.

Do I need a Home Hub to lock when I leave?
Not if Nuki Web is linked: the automation also runs on the BluConnect server while your phone is off. If you only use the Bridge, your phone cannot reach it once you have left; add a Nuki Web key too, or use a Home Hub.

Is this support ready?
It is new and marked Beta in the app and has not yet been tried on a real lock. If something is off, send the lock model via Account → Feedback.
