Control Midea and Comfee air conditioners and dehumidifiers locally

Last updated: 7 October 2026

Manage your Midea air conditioner or dehumidifier in the same app as the rest of your home. The connection runs over your home network; on newer models the encryption key is fetched once from the Midea cloud when adding, and after that it works without the internet.

Which devices?

  • Midea air conditioners
  • Comfee and other Midea-based air conditioners
  • Midea / Comfee dehumidifiers

How does it connect?

The device must first be connected with its own app (SmartHome or NetHome Plus). Then Add device → Midea; the device is found on your home network. On newer (V3) units the encryption key is fetched once from the Midea cloud when adding; after that it runs over your local network, without the internet.

What can you do?

  • AC power, mode and target temperature (0.5° steps where supported)
  • Indoor and outdoor temperature
  • Fan speed and swing
  • Eco, turbo, sleep, display and frost protection
  • Dehumidifier target humidity (35–85%), mode, fan, tank-full alert and child lock

FAQ

What if the Midea cloud shuts down?
Midea has been closing the cloud services that hand out keys. Devices you have already added keep working over your local network; adding a new V3 unit depends on that service, so it may get harder over time.

Do I need a Home Hub?
No. The device is controlled from your phone over your home network. Automations run while the app is open; to have them run while your phone is off, you can add an optional Home Hub.

Is this support ready?
It is new and marked Beta in the app and has not yet been tried on a real unit. If something is off, send the brand and model via Account → Feedback.
